Back to work

So I've moved back to my hometown recently. Back to small town life and it has been pretty great so far. I have found a boxing gym and a 24 hour gym close by (at a fraction of the cost of their big city counter parts), and I've gotten back to work.

This pandemic started off a blessing for me as I shifted to working from home in the beginning and lost a ton of weight. The leisure of being able to walk away from things from time to time and get a job on the treadmill or a 45 minute bag workout in was fantastic. Then as it always does, work got crazy on me. My company fortunately was able to not only withstand the pandemic but to continue to grow. It has been a crazy wild ride but we have went from having 3 in the IT department in January to 14 and counting today. We have brought in around 40 or so new hospitals and with that meant the 80-100 hour weeks started back up again. As the long nights started I stayed focus and disciplined, but the days grew longer and the nights came rapidly and before long my clean diet started getting replaced with energy drinks and fast food and I have put the weight back on.

New starting weight - 265 lbs.

I am refocused now. I am fighting to increase my work life balance now that I am working from home a lot more than in the past and I'm working on staying focused. I have began a new workout regimine making the gym at least 3 - 4 times a week. I'm focused on a lot of interval training and functional strength training and keeping up high intensity.

Monday I did chest and triceps,

10 minute treadmill warmup

3 x 10 bench press

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 10 butterfly press (machine)

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 10 kettle bell bench press motion

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 60 seconds kettle bell swings

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 10 one arm kettle bell swings into cleans

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 10 tricep pull downs

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 10 tricep extensions (dumbell)

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

30 minute treadmill cool down

Wednesday I did Back and legs,

3 x 10 lat pull downs

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 10 cable rows

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 10 lumbar back rows (machine)

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 10 kettle bell swings

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest plus 45 second planks

3 x 10 leg extensions

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 10 hamstring extensions

1 minute jump rope between each set no rest

3 x 5 per arm kettle bell cleans

skipped the treadmill sessions because I was in a hurry and instantly regretted it.

I'm back on the horse again and will continue to update major changes to my routine. Consistency is my biggest enemy with all the craziness that is my day to day life but I have that warrior mentality and I will keep going until my last breath leaves my body.
